Next week, Tuesday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m., our 2019 Fair Book Committee has been called to meet with al Fair officials by President Chris Tatum at our Exchange Club Conference Center. Fair officials include Fair Association Chairman Harbin Farr, Okefenokee Fair Manager Jonathan Daniell, all Board directors and Burton Carter, President-Elect, Secretary, Mary Fogle, Treasurer, Bill Deason, and any other chairman. Also, non-club organization officials involved with the Fair scheduled for November 5-9, 2019.
Next week Thursday, our program speaker will be Harlon Proveaux.
This week, January Programs Chairman Judge Nathan Grantham brings Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) program to our January 24 Luncheon meeting at 12:30 p.m. The GOAL program in 2018 celebrated its 47th year that Technical College instructors identify their most promising students and nominate them to com- pete against students across Georgia for GOAL based on academic achievement and personal leadership.
Before then, at 11:00 a.m. our Okefenokee Agricultural Fair Board meets in the Board Room. Next, at 11:30 a.m., our Exchange Club Board meets to handle business.
On the same day, our five Fair Officials begin a three-day meeting at the joint Georgia/South Carolina Fair Convention in Atlanta.
Next week Monday January 28, our Exchange/Red Cross Blood Drive opens from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for blood donors to give the gift
of life. Invite a friend, associate or relative to come with you and/or display a notice of the drive in the iv business.
Also, next week, our 12:30 p.m. speaker will be Ware County Board of Commissioners Manager, Scott Moye. Mr. Moye will be updating our club members on Ware County’s road projects.
January Programs Chairman, Nathan Grantham, brings January 10th program speaker, Steve Howard, MPA, ICMA-CM, CPM, CPPO, Camden County Award Government, Georgia County Administrator! Mr. Howard will brief our club on the progress and activities underway to establish a working spacesport in Camden County.
Next week, January 17th, Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Judge Nathan Grantham will bring Susan Hohenstein, Bethesda House to present their new programs.
This week, December Program Chairman Ken Carroll brings Millie Price, Coach of Waycross/Ware County STEM Initiative of the Ware County School System on December 13th. Mrs. Price is K-12 STEM Instructional Support Staff Coach at (912) 283-8656 ext. 1139. Also, Robbie Winn will bring our December Youth of the Year winner to be recognized. Next week Thursday, December 20 at 12:30 p.m. Captain Jim Dillinger of the Salvation Army will be here in Waycross and speak. Nationwide the Salvation Army has 90,000 workers, which are declining in numbers to collect donations and serve the nation’s poor.
